This page provides a chronological list of updates, new features, and important announcements for Piercing Release Forms App.

Update: PRF v 3.0.0
PRF is ENTIRELY redesigned from scratch in 2025 from your feedback. Thank you, piercers worldwide!
Sleek, fast, and new!
The new PRF is a wonder! Under the guidance of 30+ year body modification artist and 20-year APP member, @Steve_Truitt, our designers bring the new science of human-machine interfacing to PRF. Did we hire UI/UX designers for Google, Apple, and Zoom to make an app to please Steve? YES!
Three ways to purchase
Pay-As-You-Go Bundles and two Subscription choices, covering small shops and mega-studios alike.
Two styles of login
We now offer Apple and Google login options. These raise the security of your data and your clients' data, and will permanently save your settings in case you add more iPads in the future. "All my settings are gone!" is a myth if you use PRF.
Inclusive Client Gender and Pronoun Options
All clients are offered an inclusive choice of modern options, to tell or not to tell, and to text-input any gender or pronouns they feel. We believe clients have the right to feel how they feel and pronoun how they pronoun.
International Studio and Client Settings
You can now change the address and phone number formats with one tap to accommodate studios and clients worldwide.
Multiple Units of Measurement for all aspects of jewelry sizing!
With one tap, set PRF to Hybrid, Metric, or Imperial jewelry sizes.
Settings: EDITORS tab
PRF is designed for customization. Based on your studio's vibe, beliefs, and legal needs, choose the health questions and legal clauses you present to your clients. Easily dial in the wee particulars of the jewelry you use, which is recorded on every waiver. Compliance with health laws is automatically assured.
Generate Financial and Client Data Reports with one tap or by filtering. (Reports are Subscription features.)
Client List Reports: Generate spreadsheets of all client data EXCEPT health information.
Financial Reports: Generate financial reports by piercer, date range, piercer and date range, or all of that at once.
Comprehensive In-app Knowledge Base
We are proud of this new feature! A comprehensive KB for you to self-teach, self-solve, and get back to work. Further, a rad support-by-email widget is built into PRF and maintained by real body mod industry workers, not bots.
Tomorrow Tech
PRF is entirely recoded with modern architecture, so crazy and futuristic that it’s hard to summarize. We were lucky to find a coder cavalier enough to try and –succeed!– at rebuilding PRF the way we wanted. Sorry it took so long! We did it right for you. #futureproofedbaby
Flows fo Shos
PRF app is now designed for six different types of users, each with specific needs. PRF groups the needs of each user into sequences of screens we call ‘flows.’ Flows give access where needed, limiting the learning curve for all. Ten-year-olds learn these flows accidentally. We know because we tested on the little gerbils. Too easy.
The six types of users are:
Piercing clients
Piercers
Client-facing studio staff (aka front-desk help)
Studio management
Health Inspectors
Legal Teams (oh lawdy, we hope never for you!)
The eight flows are:
PRF App Initial Setup Flow
Main Menu Flow
New Client Flow
Piercer Notes Pane Flow
Save for Later Flow
Returning Client Flow
PRF Cloud Folder Flow
Settings Flow
That sounds like a lot, but your eyes and touch-interfacing neurons will flow right through PRF’s smooth, paperless health and legal compliance mojo.
Save For Later Flow
When making a PRF waiver, both clients and piercers add data. Between client and piercer inputs, pause the waiver by tapping SAVE FOR LATER. This feature sets the unfinished waiver aside to be completed later and resets the app for the next client. Piercers can now complete the piercing and then fine-tune the details of the jewelry post-session. Things we don’t always know before we start. (Save for Later is a Subscription feature.)
-AND easily add multiple piercings to one waiver! Y’all can thank @Steve_Truitt for this one!
